Belle Flaneur presents Robby Ingham Access All Areas 2012 Fashion Week
Tails up! Belle Flaneur’s next sustainable concept installation is underway!
We will be front row, back stage, in the paparazzi pit & accessing all areas to present Robby Ingham 2012 Fashion Week. Submerged in a hue of blue this oceanic awareness installation incorporates repurposing objects & transforming discarded materials into a sculptural dreamscape. We are connecting Robby Inghams two store locations for this big blue swell- Robby Ingham store @ 424- 426 Oxford St Paddington & Directions store 401 New South Head Rd, Double Bay.
What the sea wants the sea shall have – mermaid tails, lighting installations, hand crafted accessories, Mei & Picchi mannequins & hand made props, all swimming in Deeana Dlake’s mural of the deep blue abyss. This is a concept for the senses, a seascape of pure imagination including sound installation by Ryan Ackers. All Fashion Week graphics by Anthony Vandenberg. Adaptation of lighting concept by James.
Working collaboratively with the Belle Flaneur team on this happening will be Visual Merchandising students from TAFE Sydney Institute, local artists & a collection of like minded souls who share our community spirit. Production posts on collaborating artists to follow…
The generous spirit of Mr Robby Ingham aka Signore La Dolce Vita (pictured above) has enabled this dream for our beautiful big blue to come to life!
Bump in starts Sunday 1st April 6pm @ Robby Ingham store till Wednesday 4th April & continues at Directions Double Bay 5th April.
All those interested in collaboration for this BF happening say ‘I’ & ‘comment’ your available day/s.
Why? Because “The best way to observe a fish is to become a fish.” – Jacques Cousteau. Likewise the best way to best way to observe a mermaid is to become a mermaid. Tail up! Swell is rollin in!
Inspired by the Manly community, the Manly Environmental Centre & local ocean conservationist, Belle Flaneur supports the duplication of Cabbage Tree Bay’s passive use aquatic reserve. We aim to, via Joshua Lunney’s mermaid sculptures (featured in windows), resurrect the Bondi Mermaids by artist Lyall Randolph, who once sat atop Ben Buckler (Mermaid Rock) Bondi beach. We hope our work will assist David Hempton from Bondi Mermaids in creating the passive use areas at Bondi beach.

I have heard so much about this Window installation from Lara since she jumped onboard. She describes it as a “mind blowing event which will create alot of attention and awareness”. I look forward to seeing what the Belle Flaneur team produce!

I am an educator by trade. I am drawing inspiration from BF and Robbie’s journey together to change the way my people learn. It’s sounding like the giant squid of the window world – a huge, mysterious, spectacularly luminescent creature. I’ll be down this morning to dive in and see it in action.
